Repeat prescriptions will be issued at the discretion of the doctors and are normally for patients on long-term treatment.
If you are taking regular medication we have a computerised repeat prescription system. Please keep the computer slip which comes with your prescription. When you need a repeat, please tick the items needed and hand it in at reception. However, please see the other methods of ordering repeats.
Requests can be faxed to 01925 230235 or made in writing or via a pharmacy ePrescription Service (Preferred and recommended option).
The recommended "Nominated Pharmacy ePR(Prescription) service" is a new NHS service that simplifies the ordering a repeat prescription safely.
The steps are :
- Find the nearest or preferred pharmacy to your residence or surgery
- Call them and register your name and surgery details with them and advise them of your repeat medication and the frequency that you want them to order the medication.
- Contact us and let us know your preferred pharmacy details and we shall link your repeat medication to your nominated pharmacy
- The medication will be ordered monthly or at set dates by the pharmacy on your behalf and in most cases delivered to your home (or be picked up from the pharmacy).
Self Ordering Online
Online ordering of repeat prescriptions is also available via the link at the top of this page. To request an authorised repeat medication online you will first need to register with the online service. Once you have been issued with your own "PIN" and "Password", you can make your requests online. Please ask at the practice for further details.
Please note that, in the interest of safety, repeat prescriptions cannot be taken over the telephone. We are also unable to take orders or issue prescriptions at weekends, public holidays or outside opening hours.
Please allow 48 working hours, from receipt of the request at the practice, for collection of the prescription. Prescription collection is therefore available at 15:00 or later on the appropriate working day.
For example: prescription requests received on or before 12:00 on a Monday will be available for collection after 15:00 on a Wednesday.
Patients can allocate which of our 2 sites they prefer to drop & collect prescriptions.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once or in some cases twice a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate telephone or face to face appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
