Eric Moore Partnership Joins Safe Surgeries Initiative

Posted on:

At Eric Moore Partnership Medical Practice, we are proud to announce that we have officially joined the Safe Surgeries initiative in collaboration with Doctors of the World UK. This initiative highlights our commitment to providing equal and inclusive healthcare for all, particularly for those in vulnerable circumstances, including migrants.

Healthcare is a human right, and by signing the Safe Surgeries Declaration, we reconfirm that we actively seek to avoid the barriers that may prevent individuals from accessing quality care. We ensure that our practice remains a welcoming and safe space for everyone in our community, regardless of immigration status, race, gender, or other characteristics’, as I feel the original wording insinuates that we had barriers in place previously, but we have always worked this way.

What Does This Mean for Our Patients?

  • No discrimination: Our registration policies are designed to ensure that no one is turned away due to race, gender, sexual orientation, immigration status, or other characteristics.
  • Inclusive registration: We will not require proof of ID, address, or immigration status for patient registration.
  • Support for vulnerable groups: Our staff are trained to understand and address the challenges faced by vulnerable individuals, including migrants, and work to mitigate these barriers.
  • Confidentiality: We handle all patient information with the utmost respect and confidentiality.

By joining the Safe Surgeries community, we pledge to support others in this network and continue to uphold the principles of equality and inclusivity in healthcare. We are here to ensure everyone in our community has access to the care they need.
