NHS 111 is a confidential telephone advice line which is staffed by nurses and open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If you have any health problems, a nurse will advise you on who you should contact for the right treatment, based on the symptoms you describe and the information you supply.
For deaf people or those hard of hearing there is a textphone service available on 0845 606 4647. For those whose preferred language is not English, there is the choice of a confidential translation service.
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
